All-metal line end shield

The all-metal track end shield is a durable safety device for the end of railway and rail lines that protects rail cars and equipment from derailment and severe damage by absorbing and dispersing impact energy. With its reinforced steel body, easy installation and low maintenance, this shield is a safe option for stations, industrial lines and shunting yards.

Description

The all-metal end shield is designed as the last safety barrier at the end of the rail tracks to absorb and transfer the forces in a controlled manner in the event of low to medium speed collisions and prevent damage to the fleet and infrastructure. The structure of this shield is made of industrial steel with an anti-corrosion coating (hot-dip galvanized or epoxy paint) and is connected to the chassis or rail bus by an arrangement of reinforcing beams, impact plates and base restraints. Its engineering design is such that targeted plastic deformation occurs in the impact area and the collision energy is dissipated, while the stability of the structure is maintained.

Features and Benefits:

  • All-metal and highly resistant to impact, abrasion and environmental conditions (humidity, temperature, UV).
  • Ability to absorb energy and reduce the acceleration of the wagon at the moment of impact.
  • Quick installation on end-of-line chassis or concrete foundation; compatible with common rail standards.
  • Low-cost maintenance; simple periodic inspection and replacement of shock absorber parts.
  • Suitable for stations, industrial lines, maneuvering areas and branch lines with limited to medium traffic.

Technical options (customizable):

  • Dimensions and energy absorption capacity appropriate to fleet type and operating speeds.
  • Type of anti-corrosion coating (galvanized, epoxy, polyurethane) based on climatic conditions.
  • Bolted or welded connections, with reinforcement plates and gutters.
  • Safety add-ons such as reflective markings, rubber/polyurethane bumpers and side protection.

Applications:

  • The ends of station lines and urban platforms.
  • Railway lines, factories and mines.
  • Maneuvering and parking routes for wagons.

Maintenance and safety:

  • Periodic visual inspection for cracks, rust, and loose connections.
  • Check the level and tightness of the restraints after each reported collision.
  • Renew anti-corrosion coatings at recommended intervals.
